Check out this 1966 Epiphone Sorrento E452T in Royal Olive, built by Gibson in Kalamazoo, Michigan, during Epiphone’s golden Gibson era. The Sorrento shares its thinline single-cutaway platform with Gibson’s ES-125TC, but adds Epiphone touches: oval pearloid inlays, the elongated Epiphone headstock, and a Gibson-made mini humbucker in place of the P-90.
Royal Olive was offered only by Epiphone, and it’s one of the most distinctive finishes of the 1960s. Collectors look for it, and it’s rare to find one in condition like this. This example is in excellent vintage condition, with only very minor blemishes (shown in photos). The finish is original and the guitar is all original
The original mini humbucker is clear, articulate and bell-like, with a tight low end and sparkling top. It handles everything from clean jazz to crunchy rock and roll, and responds beautifully to the volume and tone controls. The neck is a comfortable, slender C carve with the narrow nut typical of the era. The guitar is lightweight, resonant, and a joy to play.
It comes with a non-original hardshell case.
