Kramer XL-8 8-String Bass – Aluminum Neck!

A killer example of one of Kramer’s most distinctive vintage basses, the XL-8 is an iconic 8-string bass from the late 1970s/early 1980s, known for its bold tone, unique aluminum neck construction, and unmistakable Kramer design.

This example is in very good vintage condition with noticeable dings and player wear throughout, as shown in the photos. It has the common neck heel crack found on these basses, which is structurally sound and does not affect playability. The original pickups and electronics function perfectly. The aluminum neck has some bowing, and because it does not have a truss rod, the neck relief cannot be adjusted. As a result, the setup cannot be dialed in perfectly, requiring a slight compromise in order to maintain comfortable playability across the higher frets.

Includes the original hardshell case. The back of the case is beginning to separate slightly from the weight of the bass, but the case remains fully functional.
