LA Vintage Gear is proud to offer this Lil Dawg ChocoPrince, a hand-built boutique amplifier based on the legendary Fender 6G2 Princeton circuit.
The original Fender 6G2 Princeton is one of the most revered low-wattage vintage American tube amplifier designs, prized for its simplicity, touch sensitivity, warm clean tones, and natural power-tube breakup. The Lil Dawg ChocoPrince brings the essential character of this classic circuit into a carefully built modern amplifier.
With its low-wattage, fixed bias tube design, the ChocoPrince is particularly well suited for players who want genuine vintage-style tube breakup at manageable volume levels. It is equally at home in a recording studio, home setup, rehearsal space, or small performance environment.

Fender 6G2 Princeton Circuit
The Fender 6G2 Princeton is a landmark American tube amplifier circuit known for its simple signal path and highly interactive response. Much like larger Fender amplifiers that rely on multiple power tubes and higher output power, the 6G2 Princeton uses a fixed bias design that allows the amplifier to produce its characteristic overdrive at relatively modest volume.
The result is a remarkably expressive amplifier that responds directly to the player’s picking dynamics and guitar volume control.
At lower settings, the circuit produces warm, articulate vintage Fender clean tones. As the amplifier is pushed, the power section begins to compress and overdrive, producing the harmonic richness and natural breakup that vintage Princeton amplifiers are known for.
Vintage Princeton-Style Tone
The ChocoPrince is an excellent choice for players looking for the sound associated with vintage Fender Princeton amplifiers without needing to track down an original 1950s example.
The single-ended design produces a particularly organic response, with natural compression and harmonically complex overdrive. The amplifier’s low output power also makes it especially attractive for recording and studio use, where getting a larger amplifier into its sweet spot can be impractical.
The ChocoPrince works beautifully with guitars equipped with both single-coil and humbucking pickups and responds especially well to changes in picking attack and guitar volume.
Hand-Built Lil Dawg Construction
Lil Dawg Amplifiers has built a strong reputation among players seeking hand-built interpretations of classic American tube amplifier circuits.
The ChocoPrince follows the fundamental architecture of the Fender 6G2 Princeton, emphasizing the simplicity and directness that make the original circuit so appealing. Rather than relying on modern high-gain circuitry or extensive onboard effects, the amplifier’s character comes from its tube circuit, transformers, speaker, and interaction with the guitar.
This straightforward approach is a major part of the appeal of the ChocoPrince and the vintage Fender circuits on which it is based.
Ideal Recording & Studio Amplifier
One of the greatest strengths of a 6G2 Princeton-style amplifier is its ability to produce desirable tube overdrive without requiring the extreme volume levels of a larger vintage Fender amplifier.
The amplifier’s natural compression and touch-sensitive breakup can also make it an excellent recording tool for capturing expressive guitar performances.

Condition
The amp is in very good overall condition and functions exactly as it should. The amplifier has been tested and is operating properly.
Cosmetically, there are a few small tears in the tolex (shown in photos) as well as some tolex lifting on the back side of the top back panel. Aside from these imperfections, the amplifier presents very well.
